Overview
*instinctools is hiring a Middle+/Senior Data Engineer with strong Python expertise for a remote 6–12+ month cooperation. The role is for a client operating a global mobility and urban services platform active in over 700 cities across 47 countries. The position focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines, building scalable cloud data infrastructure, improving data quality monitoring, optimizing DWH queries, and collaborating with Data Analysts on data delivery and transformation logic.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end ETL/ELT data pipelines from diverse source systems to the Data Warehouse.
- Build scalable and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure for storing and processing large datasets.
- Implement and improve monitoring, alerting, and automated validation systems for data flows and data quality.
- Participate in system design and data architecture evolution with a focus on performance, resilience, and security.
- Optimize existing data pipelines and DWH queries for efficiency and cost reduction.
- Collaborate with Data Analysts to clarify technical requirements for data delivery and transformation logic.
- Conduct root cause analysis of data quality incidents and develop sustainable engineering solutions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for DWH schemas, pipeline architecture, and data lineage.
Requirements
- Expert proficiency in Python 3.7+ for pipeline development.
- Advanced SQL knowledge.
- Deep understanding of multi-layered DWH architecture, including Raw, ODS/Staging, and Data Marts.
- Extensive experience building ETL workflows with Airflow 2.
- Excellent knowledge of OOP, design patterns, and clean architecture.
- Professional experience with major cloud object storage services such as Google Cloud Storage, Amazon S3, or Azure Blob Storage.
- Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Google BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift.
- Mandatory experience with Git for version control and collaborative development.
- Upper-Intermediate English or higher.
- CET working time zone availability.
- Nice to have: Kafka, PubSub, CI/CD, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and experience with high-load or low-latency data systems.
