EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA)
Organization
About
EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA) was launched on 20 February 2023 following a decision by the EU Foreign Affairs Council. The mission is deployed on the Armenian side of the international border with Azerbaijan and works to support peace, stability, and human security in the region. EUMA plays an important role in the European Union’s broader efforts to contribute to stability in Armenia and the South Caucasus through civilian monitoring, reporting, and confidence-building activities. Its mandate has been extended until 19 February 2027.
Culture
EUMA’s culture is based on neutrality, professionalism, civilian service, transparency, respect for human security, and commitment to peace and stability. The mission brings together international civilian experts and monitors who work in close coordination to observe developments on the ground, engage responsibly with local communities, and support the European Union’s peacebuilding efforts in the region.
